Organ Scholarship

Christ Church Cathedral offers an Organ Scholarship for the duration of one academic year, from September to July. The scholarship is intended for organ students wishing to gain experience in all aspects of cathedral music, after their university or music college courses. The scholar benefits from the experience of working both with a professional mixed adult choir and with the girls’ choir of the cathedral, and from having regular access to the cathedral organ. Tuition in organ playing and conducting is included in the package, as well as a bursary towards lessons abroad. The scholar is provided with a one bedroom flat, free of charge, right in the heart of the vibrant inner city, close to the cathedral.

The holder for 2009 is Aleksandr Nisse.
